Remote Online Notary FAQs

I am not comfortable with technology. Is this a good way for me to execute documents?

No. If you’re not comfortable with using the Remote Online Notary platform, you will need to discuss an alternative signing option with your closing representative.

What technologies do I need access to?

This is a video conferencing tool and each signer will need a webcam or access to the camera on their computer, smartphone, and/or tablet. Each signer will need to attend the session on their own web browser. The web browser must be either Chrome or Safari.  Each signer must have their own email address.

Will I need a photo ID?

Yes, each signer must have verified government identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.). Each signer will hold the ID up to the camera. PandaDoc will take a picture of the ID automatically. If the picture is not taken automatically or you experience technical difficulties, you may select to manually take a picture through your webcam/camera.

How is my identity verified by the Notary?

Knowledge-based authentication (KBA) is a security measure that identifies end users by asking them to answer specific security questions to provide accurate authorization for online or digital activities. KBA questions can span over your lifetime and each signer will have two minutes to answer five questions correctly.

Can I enter the program prior to our meeting?

No, each signer will receive a link via email 5 minutes prior to the meeting.
